User Conference 2010

The User Group Conference was held June 21-24 at the Sheraton Crowne Plaza in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The conference was attended by personnel from over 100 utility, partner and integrator companies from north and south America and the middle east.  The focus for this year’s conference was “The Control Room of the Future” and all of the conference session focused attendees toward what their systems would require in the future to continue to provide increasing value to their company.  The conference was highlighted this year by group sessions focused on the control room and the user interface to the real-time Survalent control system.  Users were divided into teams to foster discussion, build out the control room requirements and to drive needs from Survalent for their future real-time operations.  Users came up with many detailed features and functions they would like to see and then helped prioritize the list by placing their “Survalent dollars” on their most important items.  This process produced many great items for the Survalent system, making it the most successful sessions the conference has ever had.

The users voted to keep the current User Executive in for another year, and added two new members:  John McClean from PowerStream and Steve Ingram from Bryan Texas Utilities.

Mark your calendar: The conference will be moving back to the United States for 2011 and will be held at the Mid-South Convention Center, Tunica, MS, June 6-10.  Thanks to all who attended this year and we look forward to seeing you next year in Tunica.
