MISSISSAUGA, ON — June 22, 2010 — Survalent Technology, a leading provider of smart grid solutions to utilities, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Ottawa River Power Corporation.
Headquartered in Pembroke, Ontario, Ottawa River Power is a local electrical distribution company serving the communities of Almonte, Beachburg, Killaloe and Pembroke in the Ottawa Valley.
The new system is an upgrade from Survalent’s VMS platform to their highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. The feature-rich system incorporates many of Survalent’s advanced applications, including Command Sequencing high-level programming language, Short-Term Load Forecasting, and Load Management.
