VP International Sales
Overview of the Position
The VP, International Sales will lead the strategic and tactical sales execution internationally to increase company revenues. Contribute as an active member of the executive team to shape the strategic development of the company well beyond doubling revenue. Anticipate and react quickly to changes in our market.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the STC champion in the international market place
- Reporting to the President of the company, this position is responsible for managing Regional Sales VP's and Sales Representatives in order to achieve company bookings and profit targets. Assist to promote, sell and secure new business
- Handle all direct and regional sales staff quarterly goal setting and performance reviews
- Manage inside sales to assure complete, accurate and timely submission of quotations that include product descriptions, prices, deliveries, terms of sale and warranty
- Maintain current understanding and knowledge of the international market space, opportunities and threats for STC. Communicate and share information as appropriate to STC's management team for action
- Assist in resolving major customer problems
- Support the project and system engineering team as appropriate in the delivery of STC's solutions to meet and/or exceed project gross margin target
- Responsible for strategic and growth planning of business with top management
- Develop and implement an effective sales strategy, in conjunction with staff, by selecting and targeting appropriate customers, applications, products, and geographies
- Recruit, train, support, and monitor performance of direct sales persons, independent sales representatives, and VAR/Integrators and provide effective coaching to continuously improve results
- Develop partnerships and ventures with companies in specific geographies that open new channels to markets
- Participate in conjunction with VP Marketing in the planning, organization, and execution of international trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, online seminars, and other events as required
- Manage expenses while achieving bookings and profit targets
- Provide feedback to the broader organization on competitive products, promotions, selling techniques, warranties and marketing policies
- Continually assess the pricing strategy of STC against competitive products and provide feedback to the business for appropriate action to achieve the company objectives
- Forecast and budget revenue and expenses

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of work experience and skill development
- 15 years plus of technical solutions sales with at least 10 years in the international arena
- Extensive knowledge in SCADA industry and automation selling experience to electric utilities is required
- Experience in smart metering, smart grid applications, power industry communications and energy efficiency sector is preferred
- Spanish speaking a definite asset
- Experience with Salesforce.com
- Must be versed in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
