Survalent Technology Commissions New SCADA System for Jackson Municipal Electric Department
MISSISSAUGA, ON — September 13, 2011 — Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Jackson Municipal Electric Department.
Jackson Municipal Electric Department supplies electricity to approximately 4,167 meters in the City of Jackson, located in south central Ohio. They are a member of American Municipal Power (AMP), Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA), and American Public Power Association (APPA).
The new system features Survalent's highly available, dual-redundant, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. The system includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Command Sequencing, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard, Control Panel, Remote Alarm Annunciation, SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access and MultiSpeak interfaces for Engineering Analysis, Outage Analysis, Load Management, GIS Dynamic Viewer, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure. The system also included Scout Station Controllers and database and graphics for 5 substations.
