MISSISSAUGA, ON — September 27, 2011 — Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for San Marcos Public Utility.

San Marcos, located just south of Austin, Texas, and home to Texas State University, serves over 19,500 customers, including residential, commercial, institutional and industrial customers. They are a member of the Texas Public Power Association (TPPA).

The new system features Survalent's highly available, dual-redundant open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Command Sequence, Event Data Recording, Disturbance Analysis, IED Wizard, Control Panel, Master/Slave Alarm Suppression, SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access, Operations and Outages Accounting, Remote Alarm Annunciation, SCADA Replicator, WebSurv and Multispeak.
