MISSISSAUGA, ON — February 7, 2012 — Survalent Technology, a leading provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the City of Fairhope, Alabama.
Fairhope first began offering electrical service in the 1940s, generating its own power in a small plant but has constantly strived to improve service. Fairhope serves approximately 6,500 residential, commercial and industrial customers and is a member of Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) and Electric Cities of Alabama (ECAL).
Fairhope's new system features Survalent's highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequencing, Event Data Recording (EDR), IED Wizard, Control Panel, SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access, Remote Alarm Annunciation, MultiSpeak and Virtual RTU.
