MISSISSAUGA, ON — February 22, 2012 — Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system Rockwood Electric Utility.

Rockwood Electric Utility (REU) is a not-for-profit, municipally owned utility dedicated to providing Electric service to residential, commercial, industrial, and public facilities. REU serves over 14,000 electric customers, with over 11,000 of those being residential customers. They are a member of Tennessee Municipal Electric Power Association (TMEPA) and Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA).

The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequencing, Event Data Recording (EDR), Remote Alarm Annunciation, IED Wizard, Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Power Factor Control, Voltage Reduction and Multispeak.
