MISSISSAUGA, ON — June 29, 2011 — Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Wake Forest Power.

Town of Wake Forest is located in north central North Carolina and a suburb of Raleigh. Wake Forest Power serves approximately 6,000 customers and is one of 48 of the nation's more than 2,000 public power utilities to earn Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) recognition from the American Public Power Association (APPA).

The new system features Survalent's highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. The system includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Command Sequencing, SCADA Replicator, Event Data Recorder, IED Wizard, Control Panel, Operator Training Simulator, SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access, and Power Factor Control.

The system was endorsed through Survalent's industry partner Hometown Connections, a utility services subsidiary of the American Public Power Association (APPA).
