MISSISSAUGA, ON — June 22, 2011 — Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned six new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems including advanced Distribution Management (DMS) functionality for CFE Mexico Golfo Norte (North Gulf) Division.

Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is a Mexican public corporation and government agency that was founded in 1937. CFE's mission is to provide generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electric energy for 34.7 million metered customers of Mexico's population of almost 113 million people, making it one the largest in North America. Division de Distribución Golfo Norte, headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico, provides energy services to approximately 2.5 million customers in the Mexican states of Coahuila, Nuevo Léon, and Tamaulipas.

The new system features Survalent's highly available, dual-redundant, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008 R2. The system includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView Graphical User Interface, Web Server, Event Data Recorder, IED Wizard, Control Panel, Remote Alarm Annunciation, SNMP, DNP3.0 Level 3, ICCP, and SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access.

In addition to the traditional SCADA applications, CFE Golfo Norte innovative plans required additional advanced DMS functionality, such as: Network and Connectivity import from CFE's corporate GIS system (SIGED), Interface to CFE's corporate TCS system (SICOSS) , Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Lightning Detection System among others.
