Survalent Technology Releases SmartOMS™ Outage Management System

MISSISSAUGA, ON — June 16, 2011 — Survalent Technology, a leading provider of core smart grid solutions to utilities, announced at TechFest 2011 that it has released SmartOMS™.
SmartOMS™ is a fully integrated, flexible and feature-rich Outage Management System (OMS). It is designed to run on the SCADA host, with a user interface built into the WorldView operator interface. SmartOMS™ is therefore fully redundant along with the rest of the SCADA system.
Survalent announced the release of SmartOMS™ to 200 utility attendees at TechFest 2011, which was held last week in Tunica, MS.
"The current release supports automated data entry, call analysis, callbacks, MultiSpeak interoperability with Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)/Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), crew management, and integration with Integrated Voice Response (IVR), Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), and caller ID," states Cornel Munteanu, VP of Software Development. "SmartOMS™ is also fully integrated with SmartSCADA®. The SCADA system will forward to OMS notifications of all SCADA events and operations that are relevant to OMS, such as a breaker trip that results in a lockout, and automatically create an outage case record."
"Control room operators want easy access to data, friendly user interface, operations that are instinctively clear, and a clear-cut path to resolving problems," states Steve Mueller, President. "Integrating OMS on our real-time SCADA platform will allow our customers to leverage their existing investments in hardware, database, graphics, and familiarity of our application software and operator interface."
A product brochure on SmartOMS is available on Survalent's website.
