MISSISSAUGA, ON — March 15, 2011 — Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for New Braunfels Utilities.
New Braunfels Utilities (NBU), located in South Central Texas, serves approximately 28,000 customers and maintains over 770 miles of overhead and underground distribution line.
The new system features Survalent's highly available, dual-redundant, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. The system includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: MultiSpeak 3.0, Event Data Recorder, Master/Slave Alarm Suppression, IED Wizard, Control Panel, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Command Sequencing, Disturbance Data Capture, Operator Training Simulator, ICCP, WebSurv, SCADA Replicator, and SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access.
"NBU is maximizing their use of SCADA with Survalent's MultiSpeak applications," states Mike Bowdle, VP Sales and Marketing. "MultiSpeak allows NBU to share real time information with other systems, making other suppliers software more valuable. Furthermore, MultiSpeak is an enabling technology, allowing use of real time information for applications such as demand reduction and volt/var control. We welcome NBU to our growing list of satisfied customers."
