DA Applications

Fault Data Recorder
Fault Data Recorder application allows utilities to upload and record fault data from SEL relays. The application consists of a Fault Recorder editor and an executive program. The editor allows you to identify fault data points as well as other points and parameters that are involved in the process of retrieving the fault data. The executive program does the actual retrieval (i.e. detection, uploading and storage) in cooperation with the scan task.

Load Estimation
Load Estimation application works in conjunction with Survalent’s Load Forecasting application. It uses the scheduled load forecasts to continually estimate the present value of the load point. By means of a special calculation function, the estimated value can be used to substitute actual telemetered values during periods where telemetry has failed.

Load Curtailment
Load Curtailment application allows utilities to control load and shedding.  Based upon the conditions of the electric power system, a supervisory command for each load class determines how and when the load should be curtailed.

Power Factor Control
Power Factor Control application monitors and corrects the power factor at specified locations within the power system.

Short-Term Load Forecasting
Short Term Load Forecasting application is based on matching historical load and weather data. The historical data set consists of hourly samples of load, dry bulb temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and cloud cover. A weather forecast editor allows you to enter hourly weather forecasts for up to 24 hours and daily forecasts for up to a month.
