SurvalentONE Operational Analysis Environment

SurvalentONE Operational Analysis Environment

Every action taken by operators has a wider impact on the network. For example, each time an operator executes a switching order in the live system, there is a risk of overloads, asset damage, and even blackouts.

Utilities therefore need to provide operators with the ability to evaluate the outcome of proposed actions before they execute them. Ideally, the same solution would also allow operators to revisit events after the fact and review actions taken in the moment to improve future responses.

Survalent’s Operational Analysis Environment (OAE), which includes SurvalentONE Study Mode and SurvalentONE Playback, is an offline environment application that mirrors the operator’s workstation and enables operators to safely validate actions before execution.

In Study Mode, operators can investigate hypothetical future states of the electrical network based on the current data and configuration of their real-time production system, load a saved snapshot of the database, or view the as-built network. Study Mode provides access to the same SurvalentONE ADMS applications and functionality as their live system. Operators can create and edit switch orders in Study Mode, and then upload them to the production environment when they are ready to execute.

Playback enables operators to review how previous events evolved in their network, and the impact of decisions made at the time. Operator can set the start and end time of the playback period and stop at specific time increments throughout the selected event to review alarms and actions taken.
